She holds a degree in comparative religions and did graduate work on the spirituality of daily life in India and Tibet. A vegan of twenty-seven years, Victoria wrote the 1985 Compassion the Ultimate Ethic: An Exploration of Veganism – her first book and the first full-length book on vegan living ever published. Nine additional books have followed, including best-selling Creating a Charmed Life (in 29 languages and quoted on boxes of Celestial Seasonings teas), and the essential vegan weight loss guide, The Love-Powered Diet: Eating for Freedom, Health, & Joy. Other titles include Lit from Within, Shelter for the Spirit, Fat, Broke & Lonely No More, and Younger by the Day. Though many may infer a relationship between veganism and weight loss, Victoria Moran makes the important connection between compassion for animals, a healthy spirit, and a healthy body.
