The Empire State Plaza Convention Center located in Albany, NY, is a 70-acre complex of governmental buildings in downtown Albany, New York. Adjacent to the historic State Capitol, the Plaza is home to over 10,000 State employees and many State agencies and commissions. Frequent special events are held at the Plaza, including those hosted by the New York State Office of General Services’ Special Events Office. Additionally, the Empire State Plaza Convention Center, New York State Museum and Empire Center at the Egg are frequent venues for public activities.

Directions

From the North – Take Interstate I-87 (Northway) to Interstate I-90 East (exit # 1E). Take Interstate I-90 East to Interstate 787 South. Take Exit #3A for the Empire State Plaza.

From the South – Take New York State Thruway (Interstate 87) to Exit 23 – straight through Toll Booth to Interstate 787, then take Exit #3 for the Empire State Plaza.

From the East – Take Interstate 90 West to Exit # B1 (I-90). Continue on I-90 to Interstate 787 South. Follow I-787 South to Exit #3A for the Empire State Plaza.

From the West – Take the New York State Thruway (Interstate 90) to Exit 24 (Albany), proceed east on Interstate 90 to Interstate 787 South. Take exit # 3A for the Empire State Plaza.

Traveling to Albany, NY

Located at the crossroads of the Northeast, the Capital Region is accessible by major expressways, well-maintained rural thoroughfares, and modern transportation services. The New York State Thruway, Adirondack Northway, Taconic Parkway, and Interstate 88 all converge around the Capitol Region, Albany, NY.

The Albany International Airport (ALB) is serviced by major carriers. As the major air center for the Capital Region, Northeastern New York and Western New England, the Albany International Airport (ALB) offers a wide-range of facilities and services.

Three major interstate highways, I-90, I-87 and I-84, intersect the Capital Region and make it easy to reach major cities in Canada, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and New Jersey in a matter of hours.

Amtrak trains arrive daily at regional depots, and both national and regional bus services are available. Amtrak provides extensive service throughout Albany and is a convenient way to travel the northeast and beyond. Amtrak services the Capital Region with 15 rail stations in nine counties. The Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak Station is joined by Amtrak, The Capital District Transit Authority Bus System, and local taxis.
